VAISEF collects outcomes data to demonstrate the success and impact of the youth served by our member schools. We have been collecting outcomes data since 2001. While many member schools use their data to inform decision-making around program design, service delivery, and continuous improvement, VAISEF takes this collective information a step further. By analyzing outcomes data across our membership, we are able to answer critical questions about who our member schools serve, how well they serve them, and the measurable difference they make in students’ lives. All members are required to participate, as documented in the Standards of Accreditation.
Collecting and sharing outcomes data is essential because it provides credible evidence of effectiveness, highlights areas of growth and innovation, and supports data-informed advocacy. It ensures that policy decisions are grounded in real student experiences and results, demonstrates accountability to our stakeholders, and helps secure the resources and recognition our programs deserve.
Ultimately, consistent and accurate outcomes data allow VAISEF to tell a compelling story—one that reflects the dedication, impact, and excellence of our member schools in helping students reach their full potential.
There are three surveys to complete annually:
1. VAISEF Student Exit Survey (individual student exits)
2. Post-Discharge Follow-Up Survey- A minimum of one post discharge follow-up of each successfully discharged student should be conducted 12 months following student exit.
3. VAISEF Coversheet Survey- Aggregated Exits and Enrollment for the reporting year

Surveys: Click on the link for each survey. * Each individual member school is required to enter aggregated student entrance and exit data via a different link. The data collection tool used to do so is the “Coversheet Survey.” The link to this data is not included here because it changes from year to year. Unlike the “Individual Student Exit Survey” you cannot enter data into this survey year around. The link to the survey is usually provided in August or September. |
