VAISEF is an association of Virginia private providers of specialized educationand services for children and youth with special needs, and their families.

• is to enhance the capabilities of its members to provide quality specialized education and services by offering an accreditation process and by providing information, training, and networking opportunities; and

• to increase opportunities for members to provide services by advocating for a full continuum of services and by advocating for an increased role of the private sector, and by networking with state and local agencies

Teaching-Parent Couples

Virginia Home for Boys & Girls is accepting resumes for married couples for the Teaching-Parent position. Teaching-Parents live and work in a home with 8 adolescents.

VHBG is a certified Teaching-Family Model sponsor site. 

Responsibilities include: teaching social skills, implementing treatment plans, coordinating with various professionals on behalf of youth, providing family-style atmosphere, advocating for adolescents, & managing a home budget.

Relevant education in human services field and/or experience with adolescents is preferred. A strong desire to create a lifestyle centered on working with adolescents in a supportive, nurturing home environment is a must.
